The House

There have been a few requests from those out of towner friends to see the new house. So here you are. Nothing special, nothing fancy, but we really love it here. When we bought the house it was all the same color--khaki. So we painted the dining room, kitchen, and guest bathroom. It also had carpet in the dining room, halls, and den. We pulled that up and put down hardwoods. No curtains are hung yet and the bonus room is a little bare... but it's getting there. So a few projects later and the boxes unpacked...here's our home. Harley is getting adjusted. He was a little stressed out the first few days....but I think he feels right at home now... since he has already left us a surprise in the floor. Enjoy!

Game Night With The Tucks

Saturday night we went over to our sweet friends house--the Tucks. David and Amanda are in our small group and we have become instant friends--they are so much fun!! Amanda fixed us a yummy meal and then it was game on. We played a round of Would you rather.... Have you played this game?? Well, it's a good one. At one point we had to make up our own Would you rather question... Amanda made a great question--so I leave you with this to ponder on... Would you rather have a peg leg and live in a house infested with termites or have a glass eye that won't stay in the socket? David and Matt strategizing over the next move
Amanda dramatically reading the cards--makes it more fun

David with their pug --Penelope

Me and Amanda after my big win--did I tell you that?? I won that stinkin game--I rock!! I should be a professional gamer

Their dogs are so cute and funny--Jackson and Penelope. Jackson is a wild man--catching Frisbees in the air and chasing tennis balls. Poor Harley--all he does is eat and sleep.

Keri's Party

We had a little party for sister. A little cookout/wii fitness action party. Keri did get the wii fitness thing for her birthday and I jumped at the chance to try it out (matt and I only have the old school gray nintendo.. remember that?). Well, anyways.. I rocked out on some tight rope walking and where the thing says clearly "Do not jump on the board"--well, I got a little excited and jumped on the board. Anyways, I hope Keri had a good party because we sure enjoyed ourselves!
PS The reason matt seems so excited in that picture is because that day he got to go to a coach's clinic at the University of Alabama where he watched their practice and saw Nick Saben.. he was loving it. Keri thought he was just excited to be at her party!

Happy Birthday Sister!!

Happy Birthday to the sister today!! I searched and searched the computer for a great picture of her solo, but I could only find this one where she was dancing on the boat this summer. So I thought against posting that one and will just send it to her in an email instead!! Hope you have had a grand birthday sister. You are such a great sister to me and I love you bunches! Thanks for all you do for me!! Hope it's a good one!!

Oak Mountain

Wednesday we went to Oak Mountain for the day. We took our bikes and as you can tell I am a little out of shape. Or a lot out of shape. If only we had one of those 2 seaters where I could just ride in the back and not have to do anything. We came across this BMX track out there and let me just set the scene for you. So here we are... and Matt takes off to the top of it and doesn't think twice about going down. I on the other hand stand by the fence for a bit just soaking it in. Then finally I get the nerve to try. Well, it took me several minutes and several 3 and 4 year olds passing by me but I finally did it. This little 4 year old boy was giving me advice on what to do..training wheels and all. I didn't have my knee pads and helmet on. Yikes!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Well, it's St. Patrick's Day. I bought some green pants a while back to wear to school on this fine day. And then I realized it was during Spring Break. So here we are in our green on this beautiful day. I tried to turn Matt's cereal green this morning--to get into the holiday. He said no thanks. Hope you have a great St. Patrick's Day!!

Bull Riding

I had a little surprise for Matt yesterday... the rodeo.. well, now I think you are supposed to call it Professional Bull Riding. Otherwise known as "PBR." Neither of us had been the rodeo before and boy did we have some fun. I even wore my cowboy boots to get into the spirit of things. Right here we snuck back behind the curtain to see the bulls up close. I don't think you were supposed to go back here, but that's ok. We stood in line to get an autograph from some bull ridin' guy and even got a free t-shirt. Doesn't get much better than that!
I think it's crazy that these guys get on these things. But I have to admit I was hoping they would have a mechanical bull because I really wanted to try it. Matt and I just may become PBR groupies and travel around to watch these guys. We were so into it! And well, this week it's Spring Break--no beach trips for us- might run into some students. Yikes!!

Moving Day

Well, we finally got moved into the ole house. I didn't take too many pictures during this funfilled event.. just a little busy. Matt and I took off Friday to unpack the pod and you wouldn't believe who came by that afternoon. The ice cream man! Love it!! I went running out into the street to catch him. I knew I had worked hard and deserved an ice cream. Thanks to the fam we got everything unpacked and put away.. finally! More pictures to come of the final product!

A Little Snow

Before heading to church, I made Harley put on his winter coat so we could take his picture in the snow. He really wanted no part in this. After all the young buck is from Mexico.. where it's hot. Yo Quiero Caliente! (That is what he says) He doesn't like cold weather. Matt wouldn't put his coat on and play in the snow so I could take his picture.. so I guess all you get to see is the Harley man. He is such a cute little booger!

Doin' Some Paintin'

Well, we finally closed on our house in Oxford on Thursday and then closed on our house here on Friday. God is so great--His timing is the best!! We started doing some work on the house this weekend. We pulled up the carpet to put hardwoods down and did a little painting. The fam has been a huge help. I really wouldn't want to be a painter for a living--I would if I had to--but I feel a little carpel tunnel syndrome coming on after 2 long days of painting. A little more painting tomorrow night and then hopefully we can start actually moving in.
