Surprise, It's Matt's Birthday

Happy Birthday to my fabulous husband!! Today is his birthday... otherwise known as Flag Day to some. He turns the big 28!! Last night I, along with my good friends the Crockers, threw Matt a surprise party. I have never done this before and didn't know if I could pull it off.. but alas I think it was a success! Nathan "took matt to the movies for his birthday" and then told him we were eating dinner at their house. Here is matt coming up the stairs as we all scream "Surprise"

I think we really scared him a bit because we screamed so loud. Right before he was coming up the stairs I thought I was going to pee in my pants.. you know how it is when you play hide and go seek. See me in the right corner.. I was having way too much fun.

Matt with the other master mind behind the project. Hope and I frantically got everything together while they were enjoying a leisurely afternoon at the movies. Couldn't have done it without Nathan and Hope.

Couldn't have done it without these 2 either. Mom was a huge help in getting a lot of the food over to the house.. I had to stash most of it at her house so the snoop wouldn't find it.

Sweet little Eric, Emily and Ellie got to come for the surprise too. Doesn't Ellie look like she is still surprised by all the screaming!?

And my favorite time.... cake!! Matt's favorite--ice cream cake. There was almost a tragedy with the cake.. Hope and I had a little slip with it getting it out of the freezer, but caught it just in time and only messed up the word birthday... it now says "Happy Birdy Matt" Oh well!!

Here are a few of my precious friends that came to celebrate! We are missing a few girls, but how much I love these girls in our small group--I just can't say it enough.

Matt with the guys. A few couples had already left, but he loves these guys and could tell you a story for each one of them. And I am sure they have some stories on him too. He is blessed to call them friends.

Me with the birthday boy. Matt keeps telling me he really was surprised.. it's a good thing because I have been keeping some serious secrets from him for weeks now. I have been dreaming about this party at night--thinking someone told him or that I spoiled the surprise.

And sister and steven. Couldn't have done it without them either. Sister helped a ton with the food too.. the fam always comes through for me. Fun times!!
