Around Here

Let's do a little catch up of what's been going on lately.

We have had a few warmer days, but mostly it has been a little chilly. We have been entertaining ourselves indoors and we are ready for Spring. This little guy keeps us laughing. He is in the thick of the 3's and this is a fun age. We definitely have our challenging days, but he is such a joy to watch as he experiences new things.

After school last Thursday we had several errands to run and then we were taking dinner to a family and I just didn't think we had time to go home and take a nap and then get everything done. I made a crazy decision to skip nap and let's run our errands and then stop for a special treat. This boy loved it! We stopped at Gigi's Cupcakes and shared a chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake. Once we ordered, Fulton said--Mommy you can get one too! Sweet boy thought he was going to eat this whole thing by himself.

His new thing... telling us randomly --I love you Daddy or I love you Mommy. It just simply melts my heart when it is not prompted by us telling him first. More than loving us, I pray that he learns to love Jesus first.

Saturday was one of those days where the weather was great. We headed to the Hoover Met for a little Alabama baseball scrimmage.

It just happened to be free and Fulton thought we were at a real baseball game...win win!! It wasn't crowded so he had lots of space to roam and enjoyed watching from up close.

Monday we stopped by the library to pick up a book I had on hold and this little guy just plopped down in the floor and started looking at books. We have simply flooded him in books since he was a baby and I am so thankful he is starting to love them. We usually check out no less than 15 or 20 a week and come home with a huge stack to read for the next week. But he loves it! He will sit in your lap and let you read books to him for as long as you will do it. We left the library and had a yummy lunch with Aunt Kiki!!

Last night was a sad night... we lost Floyd II. Sniff Sniff. Fulton picked out a fish for his birthday in September and Floyd I only made it about 3 weeks. Good thing I kept the receipt. Matt quickly exchanged him (for a different color I might add-and then we had to explain that Floyd changes colors--nice job parents) and Floyd II has been thriving and loving his new home. Until yesterday. Matt kept telling me Floyd wasn't looking too good and then there he was flat on the bottom. Here's where we decided it's time we tell the truth. We told Fulton that he passed away and we gave him the proper memorial service and sent him down the potty to the ocean where he could be with his mommy and daddy. So, all that to say not sure about this whole fish thing.

And on a happier note, yesterday the Hoover Police came to visit us at school. What a fun treat!! I was so glad to be right there seeing Fulton enjoy this so much. He loves all things community helper related so this was a sweet day for him.

I love this picture. While all the other kids were looking around, Fulton kept his eyes on the Police officer the whole time. He was amazed. They even brought their dog in to let the kids pet and they loved it! Fun day at preschool!!
