Labor Day Already?!
Here's a little rundown of the Labor Day weekend....
Started off Friday night with a game against the mighty Homewood Patriots. Sister came this week to join in the festivities. It was a fun game!
Saturday we were planning to go to the lake but we woke up to a beautiful day of raining. Instead my two boys were napping on the couch... with remote in hand. Saturday night mom and dad came over to watch the AL game. It was touch and go there for a bit, but thankfully they pulled out a win!
After Matt got home from practice today we headed over to Tannehill State Park. Now matt has never been here and I myself haven't been since maybe 4th grade. We were trying to think of something fun to do since it was nice out. You would know the day we go they are having some sort of union rally. I thought "rally"... I love pep rallies. But apparently this was not what it was. They did have a band and some food and we enjoyed that... but otherwise we were a little out of place without our bandannas on our heads and our leather jackets.
Matt already had his AL gear on so we could meet our sweet friends Jonathan and Rachel at Chick-fil-A for a free sandwich. Yeah!
And then, it's hair cut time. Matt's bangs are in desperate need of a trim. I have trying for a few days to talk him into letting me trim them. Why not save the $16 bucks and let me do it? He finally agreed but nearly peed in his pants while it was going on. And I did get a major case of the giggles as the scissors were about to snip away. Hope you had a great Labor Day weekend without the labor!

Weekend Fun
So I am trying to spice up these titles to draw you into the excitement...wow! Anyways, that's the best I could do for this one. Friday night we played Gardendale and it was a win, so that was great! It wasn't much of a game and we did get a little yawny at some points. Good thing we had creepy baby there to entertain us. See her below.. she is the one on the right. If you look closely at her face you will see where she got her name. She comes in handy when you want to save some seats... just lay her on the bleachers and no one will come near you. Matt's players did great!! Good game!! Saturday was filled with some good ole quality time with my hubby--no pictures from that!
And then....we are on the way to church this morning and the traffic is so backed up. We are thinking oh no it must be a wreck or something... no wreck.. just a pack of geese crossing the road. Or should I say standing in the road. Those little boogers wouldn't move. See this is why should always carry a camera in your purse. You just never know what you will come across.

Jamboree
Saturday was our Jamboree game against Oxford. It was a little strange playing the team we came from, but we got to see some old buds so that was great. Kristin, Casey, and myself made the trek all the way to Montgomery. It was quite an adventure and a long night. We finally pulled into the ole casa about 1:00 am. What a night! For a girl that goes to bed at 9:00, this was a little rough for me. I haven't stayed up this late since New Years. This was Matt's first big game on the varsity level and I think his players did great! And they came out with a win, so that made it all worth while.

Fan Day
Well, another Bucs Fan Day has come and gone. Yesterday afternoon they had Fan Day at the Galleria. Just a little pump you up before the big season begins. It sure pumped me up... to do some shopping. The whole fam came out for the big event... although I think my mom and sister were only there for the shoe sale at Belk. I didn't get Coach Howard's autograph this year, he said not in public. As the team and coaches were leaving Keri gave Matt one more shoutout "Hey Coach Howard." I think Matt pretended he didn't know who she was talking to.
On a more serious note..... really, I am so proud of Matt. He was offered the opportunity to move up to varsity this year and he is so excited. This has been his dream.. to coach on the varsity level. I am so happy for him! He is such an amazing man, balancing everything from me, teaching, coaching, graduate school, and everything else that he does and continuing to put me first and think of me before himself!! I love him!! Go get em Coach!!!
PS--He is such a stud too!!

Weekend With The Fam
This weekend was our annual weekend at the lake with the Bouchillons. It started out Thursday night with an eventful trip to the grocery store. You can see the picture where my mom got stuck in the back of the van and struggled so much to put her seat belt on that we had to stop on the side of the road so my aunt Susan could help her. We played on the lake all day Friday and had a crazy European dinner were you cook your own food on these little mini skillets. It was fun! Saturday was another day on the lake followed by a round of Phase 10 and a good ole family photo. Doesn't get much better than that. We finished the weekend with some more fun in the sun today and had to head back home to reality. It was a great weekend with the fam!!

Drive-In
Friday night we ventured out to the drive-in with my parents. I have been to the drive-in in a long time. Matt and I went there on our first date, so it's been a while. I didn't know if we would actually make it there, because as we were getting in the car my mom said she had directions, so I didn't get the piece of paper that had the address on it. Well, we are heading out into the middle of nowhere and my mom says what's the street name. I said... thought you had the directions. She then tells me that she has directions to the "town", but not where the place is. Don't worry... the people loitering in the Dollar General parking lot knew where it was.
Mom and Dad before the show. We first parked at the Ice Age 3 screen then decided to see G-Force instead. We initially went to see Night at the Museum.. but that booger was the second show and we didn't make it that long.

Have You Seen This?
This is our new favorite thing. It's called The Red Box. Maybe you have heard of it...but we've got some first timers here. Now matt is a huge movie lover. Me on the other hand... cannot seem to stay awake through one. It's like instant tylenol pm for me. Anyways, so we went to the movie store the other night and I was totally shocked how much one silly movie cost. Get this... $4.89. Crazy!! So we are at Walgreens the other night and matt says let's check this thing out. You can get a movie for $1.00. Only a buck!! And they are good movies too.. not old school stuff like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory or anything. So anyways, that is the excitement for the week.. doesn't take much for us!!
I was so excited... I said please take my picture by this fabulous thing.

What a Day!
This may seem like such an innocent piece of plastic. Yesterday, it was more than that. What a day it was. Since nothing else too exciting is going on lately, I will share this little fun we had yesterday. So we are off to class last night.. as we do EVERY night.. I am a little bitter. We never take 2 cars. But we did last night.. and thank goodness. Matt only stayed in class for a bit then had to drive back to the high school for a parent meeting while I stayed in class and suffered through it. Several minutes after he leaves he sends me a text saying my truck won't start, bring me your keys so I can get the jumper cables. What?! So I run out there and he is all flustered and wants to jump it off. I said just take my car, you are already going to be late. So after much convincing he finally took my car. He finishes his meeting and drives all the way back to our school (good thing he didn't forget I was there stranded). I finally get out of class about 8:45... out to the parking lot thinking oh he is all ready to go. No!! Won't even turn over. Stinker!! After many good citizens stop by and to help...all the while matt with his head in the hood and several sorority girls that felt necessary to sit at the picnic table that was 2 feet from our car watching the whole thing... we finally decide to call for help.
We had to get a jumper guy come and with his industrial size cables he jumped us off. What a blessing though--he was a Christian guy who didn't rip us off and we sat and talked about the Lord with him for a bit. Sorry this is getting a little long. By this time it's just us and the janitors on campus. We head to the Wally World and I sit in the truck while matt gets a battery.. off to the house where my dad finally met us about 10:30 to put the new battery in. $150 dollars later.. I guess I won't be getting any new school clothes....What a night!!!
PS.... I didn't even mention how I started the day with a steroid injection into my shoulder and argued with the tag place because my new tag hasn't come in and the darn paper thing is expired... I guess it could be worse!! God is really so good to us.. this is really nothing!!! Hope you had a great day!

Can We Go Back?
This weekend we had a little mini vaca for our anniversary. We couldn't take a big trip this year because of school and football so we squeezed a little trip to Ross Bridge in. It was so nice and such fun.
We did get to hang by the pool for a good while after we checked in.
Now let me just tell you about the slide there. It rocks!! Please notice that matt is the only person over 3 feet tall in line. I guess adults were allowed to ride. Who knows.... but we couldn't pass it up.
