Time to Party at School

Today was our Fall party at preschool. Any good excuse to dress up and have fun 

and you know I am all over it. 

I decided a week ago to make a new costume for myself. I had searched and searched what I wanted to be and nothing was getting it. Until I decided on the trusty ole Oompa Loompa. I made everything about this costume, stripes and all. Baseball pants aren't the most flattering on me. Yikes!! 

This is my sweet little class. We had an owl, shark, Cinderella, Cat, Ballerina, Spiderman, Fairy, and a Cowboy. They were precious!! 

Next up... the parade. Parents literally lined the circle and we paraded around with our class. My class did such a good job. To be honest, I was worried. We walk on a rope everyday, but we still struggle and often get tangled up which results in someone falling and then the tears begin. 

But they did so good!!

Here's Fulton with his class and best buddy Elijah. 

KK and Pop came to represent the parental figure for Fulton since I had to stay in my class for most of the time. I was thankful to get to be there with him and pop over to his party some. And daddy made a quick surprise appearance. He didn't think he was going to be able to come, but thankfully had a quick lunch break and made it just in time. 

It meant so much to Fulton and myself that he came. 

Back to my room, my littles were partying it up. They had pizza and bananas.

 Every toddlers favorite. 

Fulton loved his party and I am so thankful these two came and stayed for him. He loved it too, even if the facial expression doesn't show it. 

His class had Chick-fil-A and this is Fulton's love language, so he was thrilled. 

This is Fulton's sweet teacher Juliette (and we have become dear friends in a short amount of time). 

Fulton was heading out with KK and ran into his best friend Laylee. 

They just love each other so much. Sweet friends!

Too Much Candy

This little guy has had so many festivities going on lately. 

I am a sucker for seasonal PJ's. These glow in the dark. How fun is that?!

Wednesday night we had trunk or treat at Mom and Dad's church. This little guy has had several costume related events lately (and more to come) so he opted to be Dr. Howard this time. Maybe he will steer this direction one day. That would be nice.

We made it in time for a little hotdog dinner. You see this look--gets it straight from his daddy. I know he has seen Matt sit like that and I guess he has decided to go with it too. 

Look at that face. He is getting too used to this candy thing. We literally let him pick one piece out last night and stashed the rest. 

He wasn't a fan of stopping to take a picture. He kept his eyes on the prize the whole time. 

We ran into some sweet friends that Fulton used to stay with at Mrs. Vin's house. 

We love Thomas and Madelyn. 

This was probably his favorite thing. 

But he did enjoy a few rounds of bean bag toss too. 

Kiki and Pete were sweet to walk around with us too. 

We hung by KK and Pop's booth and Fulton sweet talked the ladies 

into pouring more candy into his bag. 

These two are having a discussion as to why he cannot eat any candy this late at night. 

Straight to the brain people. 

HallowBoween Party

The Bowen's hosted their Halloween party this past Sunday night and the

 Howard family enjoys any opportunity to dress up. 

I tried this cake at a friend's house a few weeks ago and knew I wanted to attempt to make it myself. No better chance than a good ole Halloween party. Mine wasn't near as pretty, but it tasted pretty good. My orange layer had a little more in it than the yellow, but I think you get the point. 

This was a costume party and we weren't just any old cheerleaders. We were "The Spartan Cheerleaders" from Saturday Night Live with our cute little coach in tow. Here's a little fun fact on these costumes. Matt and I hosted a costume party back in 2007 and we made these costumes. Yes, I said made. I held onto them for whatever reason and I told Matt to cross his fingers that maybe they would still fit. Hooray they did and the coach was the perfect fit for Fulton. 

We enjoyed some delicious food and some spooky treats then it was time to carve our pumpkin. 

Matt was sweating in his full body cheer outfit, so he kept it simple this year. Who would have known it was going to be 80 that day. 

It was time for awards. Say what?! Yes, they gave out awards. 

The Shaw family took home "Most Original" for their sweatin to the oldies theme. 

Drumroll please... the Howard family took home the trophy for "Best Costume," Bring out the streamers and party hats because that shiny trophy is sitting on our mantel. 

The sweet Bowen family. Loved their Frozen theme. They hosted a great party. Matt and I are still enjoying that plastic rat they sent us home with in the party favor. It just keeps appearing in all the most random places. We like to keep things interesting around here. Fun night!

Boo at the Zoo

We are loving Fall and enjoying all things related.

Friday night we did something we haven't done before. We took Fulton to Boo at the Zoo. He loves the zoo, so he was excited when he found out we were going. I had to break it to him that the animals wouldn't be out, but it would still be fun. 

So Fulton is a robot this year. Whoop whoop. I love something funky and different and found this little gem on super clearance after Halloween last year. Thankfully he isn't at the age where he really cares what he dresses up as. He was one pretty cute robot. 

KK and Pop enjoyed the fun with us. The weather was perfect. It was starting

 to get a little cool, but not freezing. 

We rode the rain.. of course. 

The look on Fulton's face describes how exciting this wildlife show was that we sat through. Sorry Birmingham Zoo, but it was rough. 

We walked through the Africa Trail to get a few pieces of candy. He was thrilled. I let him pick out one sucker and made Pop eat the rest. 

Thankful for my little family. I love these boys. 

Did you ever ride these roller racers growing up? I loved them. I remember they had them in the church gym and we would ride them after Wednesday night church. Oh those were some fun memories. I had to contain myself from trying to get on one, but I really wanted to try it out... for old times sake. 

This little guy ate way too much junk, stayed up way past his bed time, and probably took home way too many germs, but we had a fun night. 

Time With the Hubby

 Last Thursday night this guy and I had a date night. Woohoo!! We really cherish this time together that doesn't seem to happen quite as often as we would like. 

I chose Olive Garden... a trusty old favorite. I just love the breadsticks and salad. Nothing like a good hearty bowl of pasta. We enjoyed sitting and chatting while eating (at an establishment that doesn't have a playground attached). We did a little window shopping after. 

Meanwhile, these two were getting into trouble. They had a little dinner date themselves and then Kiki took him to the store. She said he could pick out any cereal he wanted. Most three year olds would go for something like cocoa puffs, lucky charms, even fruit loops. What does Fulton go for? Raisin Bran. He is a nut. Thanks Kiki for giving us a night out!

What?! Another date?! Mom and Dad were so awesome to give us their tickets to the AL/Texas A&M game and they kept Fulton all day. Matt and I really enjoyed spending the day together. We went down really early that morning and it was already getting packed. 

We tailgated with Keri and Steven for a bit and then walked over to see the new addition to the Ferguson Center. Matt and I did some serious people watching while we had some time to kill before the game started. Alabama decided to show up and played well this game. We went home with a win. Fulton had the absolute best day playing with KK and Pop. Thankful for my sweet fam!

Sunday morning everyone was tired and worn out from the day before. We were starting to get ready for church and Fulton walked into our closet. He came back out saying --uh oh daddy, the clothes fell again. Say what? I was surely hoping he was kidding. No, unfortunately he wasn't. This happened... again. Different shelf this time, but it was about a month ago that the last one fell. Maybe I have a few too many dresses?? Nah. We spent Sunday after church fixing this puppy. Fun times!!

Pumpkin Patch

It's Pumpkin Patch season and I will not let this time go by without visiting at least one. We did a different one this year and chose a small patch in Homewood that benefited the Grace House. I am glad we found one that went for a good cause. 

The weather turned out to be hot and humid, but at least it wasn't raining. 

His favorite part was the bounce house with the slide attached. 

He would have stayed in that thing all day. 

But we pried him out to get his face painted. He was already a sweaty mess by this point, but the sweet girl managed to get a spider and a ghost painted on his cheeks. 

We decided to go ahead and pick out our pumpkins "before all the good ones get gone" as Matt said. Fulton had quite the time deciding which one he wanted. 

But the highlight of the morning may have been when these sweet friends arrived. 

Fulton loves some Macy and Laylee and couldn't have been more

 thrilled to enjoy the morning with these two cuties. 

 

The kids jumped, ran, and played until they were worn out. We snapped a quick family photo, precious right?! And then headed to lunch. 

It was sweet Macy's birthday so we let her choose and we ended up at New York Pizza. The food was great, but the company was even better. We finished up the morning with a stop at Dreamcakes for a delicious cupcake. Happy Birthday Macy Mae!! Fun morning at the Pumpkin Patch!!
