Random

This is a really random post... but has this ever happened to you? Last week I really wanted a biscuit on the way to school... I never do this... so I went a good bit out of the way to swing by this McDonald's (and obviously I haven't been this way in a while) because... I pull up and see this!! They have totally demolished the thing and are rebuilding... disappointed!!

But the hubs helped cheer me up the next day when he brought me breakfast in bed...homemade waffles with the new waffle maker I bought him for Valentine's Day... Romantic present.. I know! But it was his request. And we cannot eat the waffles fast enough, he is making them all the time. He loves the thing.

On to something else random... today after church me and 2 of my sweet friends coordinated a luncheon for some of the local missionaries that our church works with. Whitney found us these great aprons (with a few stains on them).

And we made the guys help too... and they actually enjoyed it, I think. They went to get the food and they so kindly told me that spaghetti sauce spilled "just a little" in my car. Take a deep breath... but they did great manning the dessert table. It was a good day serving others!

Blessings

Blessings... this post is such a blessing for us to be able to say....... We are pregnant!!! We are so excited, it's hard to put into words. We were able to tell my fam with a save the date on the dessert after dinner. Of course my dad was reading it upside down and he thought it said "Save the ta-ta's." We had to explain it after Keri was screaming and jumping up and down.

Mom and Dad are thrilled... and dad said let the spoiling begin. If it's any indication on how much they spoil the Harley man, then this little peanut is in for a treat (not dog treats though).

Aunt Keri and Uncle Pete are pumped... Keri is so excited!!! When we were talking about how the fam would react and Matt said, Keri will be the most excited... and she didn't disappoint. I heard Uncle Pete is really good at telling bedtime stories.

And the Harley man... let's talk about his emotions for a minute.. he is in a bit of denial since the news broke. He is still a little confused and doesn't want to admit he may have to give up his spot on the couch. He will always be our number one pup (right there with Domino), so hopefully he can come out of this mourning state he is in right now.

Seriously, we are beyond blessed. After nearly 7 years of marriage, the Lord has blessed us with children... we don't deserve it. God's grace and mercy are overflowing and we know this child is His, not ours. We just pray we can purposefully rear this child to know and love the Lord beyond anything else. Thank you Father!! "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him." 1 Corinthians 2:9

Much Needed Upgrade

We finally bit the bullet and did a much needed upgrade to our kitchen. New counter tops! Here is the before.. lovely ole blah color.. they must have been giving this stuff away for free.

In the process... what a mess! This threw me off my anal schedule for a few days, especially when I went to dump out some water in the sink and there was no sink. Patience...

And the finished product. We really like it.. It may not look like much of a change, but it really helps the value. My favorite part is this under mount sink where you can wipe the crumbs right into the sink. It's the small things in life!

Ladies Retreat

Last weekend I enjoyed a fabulous get away, "Come Away With Me" as it was called, and gathered with about 80 ladies from my church to renew, refresh, and relax. We heard some incredible teaching about sacred echos and really learning to listen when God is speaking to you, something I am not very good at. It was such a blessing to be around some seasoned women from our church and have the chance to learn from them as well.

6 of us from our small group went together and we were a little packed. It would have been worse, but I made Whitney leave her bag of shoes at home. One bag limit.

We were all smiles and ready for the road trip... those in the very back may not have had smiles on, but they made the best of it.

Here we are before dinner that night... now these next few pictures are all the same, but I will post them anyways, because it's all I took.

This was Saturday before our last session. We were getting a little worn out at this point, so we decided to break out the ring pops.

And it's time to go home. It was a great time to get into the Word and listen to what God is teaching me in this time in my life. I just need to do more of the sitting still and listening part, rather than the always talking part that I normally do. I am blessed to have these friendships in my life! To add to that fun... we got out of school a few minutes early today because of icy roads... a few minutes is all it takes to make me smile!
